Admission insights
It's a popular misconception that good grades and a strong SAT score are the only essential factors in your application. In fact, it's all too often that we see students with stellar scores who spent all their time in high school hitting the books, whilst neglecting the bevy of extracurricular activities available to them.
The US and the UK are pegged as the world’s choice destinations for pursuing higher education. However, their frameworks when it comes to the university application process are totally different.
What shape is the sky? Is ignorance really bliss? Can computers think? While you can definitely expect to be asked interview questions with obvious links to your areas of interest, not all interview questions will be quite so straightforward. Going into your very own interview, be prepared to engage with anything that comes your way – no matter how seemingly random or arbitrary.
It’s common to hear conversations surrounding the world’s most competitive schools, but less so about the world’s most competitive courses. Given the flurry of US universities that went “test optional” over the pandemic, students were left wondering whether they could truly evade taking the SAT – a long-standing pillar of the university admissions process. Pandemic restrictions added another layer of uncertainty to this question, as at the height of lockdowns and spatial constraints, administering the SAT became nearly impossible in certain countries.

We recommend starting your preparation for the test early, taking into consideration your existing commitments and study load.
It takes more than stellar grades to get into a top university in the UK. Every year, tens of thousands of academically gifted students apply with straight As and high GPAs, yet every year many still end their admissions cycle with disappointing outcomes.
Admissions officers are incredibly interested in understanding who you are as a person, along with what drives you. Extracurricular activities are a fantastic way of sharing your personal motivations and interests. It also provides admissions officers with a real insight into how passionate, creative, entrepreneurial, and original you have been when it comes to taking these activities to the next level.
